The Fashion Design Program at School of the Arts

At Charleston County School of the Arts, students can focus on developing their artistic gifts while acquiring academic, technical, and real-world fashion design skills.

The Fashion Design Program empowers 9-12 grade artists to be creative in a safe and supportive environment. The program is committed to providing an environment that nurtures those with artistic gifts to thrive and be happy.

In the Fashion Design major, students learn the foundations of saleable fashion design, fashion illustration, garment construction, sewing, draping and flat pattern design, and custom fittings. They explore fashion design industries, participate in a substantial annual fashion show, and create a digital portfolio of their work.

The highlight of Fashion Design is the annual fashion show.
